FAQ
How is bespoke jewellery priced?
From the initial stages of the process we will discuss your budget so that we can create the most beautiful, special piece for you within a price point that you feel comfortable with. We will work to source the highest quality, most charismatic gemstone or diamond for you within your budget and will only supply enhancement options if you ask for them to be provided.
What is the bespoke design process like?
Ashley believes that the most meaningful jewellery is created from forming a collaboration with her clients. She works closely with them to determine their style, inspirations, and special meanings that they would like the jewellery to embody. For a more in-depth description of the process visit our Bespoke page.
Is your jewellery ethically made?
Ashley strives to create her pieces as ethically as possible. All of her pieces are made locally by master craftsmen (and women!) in Hatton Garden, London's historic jewellery district. She uses 100% recycled gold and only purchases gemstones from small, family run, trusted suppliers who know the provenance of the gemstones. All diamonds are purchased from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with U.N. Resolutions. The most beautiful thing about working with fine metal and semi-precious and precious gemstones and diamonds is that all materials are recyclable. Feel free to get in touch as well to create new pieces from inherited or forgotten jewellery.
How should I maintain my jewellery?
Using an extra soft toothbrush, lightly scrub the piece in warm water and a drop of washing liquid to remove dirt and debris. Be sure not to wear your jewellery during intense physical activities and do check your settings frequently. The best way to do this is to use a small opened safety pin and using the end of the pin lightly push down on all sides of the diamond or gemstone. If you see any movement at all it is time to bring it in to secure the setting. Jewellery featuring opals, turquoise, pearls, emeralds or moonstone should not get wet. It's recommended to remove all jewellery before swimming. Finally, when you store your pieces, make sure they are separated from one another to avoid scratches. It's best that they have their own secure area either within a lined jewellery box or a small jewellery bag.
Do you work with international clients?
Yes! Many of Ashley's clients live internationally. Communication remains constant via video chats and WhatsApp for progress photos and videos. Design presentations will happen virtually and gemstone selection will happen via a stream of videos and photos that help capture them in their truest form. When the jewellery is finished, the pieces will be hallmarked in accordance with UK law, packaged elegantly in a branded box and shipped to you via FedEx International Priority.
How long does it take to create a custom piece?
This truly depends on the complexity of the piece but typically the production process takes between six and eight weeks, start to finish. If you are working within a tighter timeline we will do our absolute best to accommodate you.
